Joint Research Initiatives for Female Researchers

Female Researcher Joint Research Initiative Programs: Project Leader Training (Type A) and Research Group Planning and Proposal Training (Type B)

In 2017, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology started the program “Initiative for Realizing Diversity in the Research Environment” at universities for focusing on supporting joint research and improving the research capabilities of young researchers for fostering female researchers as project leaders. To apply to one of these programs, please submit your application to the Gender Equality Office (Aramaki Campus) as e-mail file attachments.
The documents will be examined carefully by the selection committee, and applicants will be notified of their selection result. The head of the respective academic department where the applicant belongs will also be requested to examine the documents.

To Potential Female Research Applicants: Overview of These Projects and Application Notes

In completing the application forms, it is acceptable to duplicate research costs and other topics, but please explain the potential as joint research for both types, and for type A, please explain so that the driving force behind the joint research can be clearly understood. The name, department, and division of roles for the joint researcher are included in the application, but no approval form is required. Please use this program as a first step to lead to research and development or to start joint research for becoming a project leader.
The Initiative for Realizing Diversity in the Research Environment is a 6-year program starting from 2017. A mid-term report must be submitted in 2019, and so we will ask you to report on the results and potential of the research. As a result, follow-up studies will be conducted on the results of the joint research even after user training, and so we ask for your continued understanding and cooperation on this point.
